Head of the Payment and Securities Clearing and Settlement Division & Recruitment

Matthias Schmudde is Head of the Payment and Securities Clearing and Settlement Division at the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt. He is a member of the MIPC (Market Infrastructure and Payments Committee) and responsible for cashless payment and securities clearing strategy, policy issues and oversight. Matthias Schmudde is in particular involved in Eurosystem related initiatives such as Instant Payments and the Vision 2020 for market infrastructures. Previously he focused on developing and improving the Bundesbank`s own payment and accounting systems. Before joining the Bundesbank in 1997, Matthias Schmudde obtained a master’s degree in business administration and completed an apprenticeship in banking.

Emiliano Tornese is Deputy Head of the Financial Markets Infrastructure Unit in the European Commission’s DG for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, and is Part-time Professor at the Florence School of Banking and Finance, based at the European University Institute, and at the College of Europe (Bruges).

Previously, he was responsible for the negotiations on the creation of the Banking Union, as Deputy Head of the Resolution and Crisis Management Unit, and the establishment of the Single Resolution Board. He also worked for the European Commission’s Securities Markets Unit and, during his tenure, was responsible for the establishment of the European Securities and Markets Authority and for matters related to its Corporate Finance Standing Committee.

As Secretary of the European Securities Committee, he coordinated the European Union’s Ministries of Finance in their regulatory capacity for financial services. He drafted and negotiated the review of the primary and secondary markets regulation and the regulation of benchmarks.

He joined DekaBank from RBS London, where he was global Co-Head of Short Term Markets and Financing responsible for Repo, collateralised Funding, FX and Interest Rate Prime and ETD. Before RBS, Michael was Head of Credit Financing and Collateral Trading (CFCT) at Dresdner Bank in London focusing on Emerging Market Repo, Equity Finance, Tri-Party Repo and synthetic financing in fixed income and credit markets. He started his career at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt as a Business Manager. Michael has a wealth of experience in the short term money-, repo- and securities lending and financing markets as well as in treasury operations. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Hamburg.

The OTC Clearing Service of ABN AMRO Clearing, fully facilitates Alternative Investors, Financial Institutions, Hedge Funds and Prof. Trading firms in all aspects of OTC and Exchange trading and Clearing

Director, Corporate Bank Securities Services | Market Advocacy

Since October 2010, Britta has been part of the Market Advocacy team within Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division, now Corporate Bank. In this role, she is responsible for several EU regulatory initiatives regarding the financial market infrastructure (e.g. MIFID, SFTR, BMR and IBOR transition), T2S and their impact on the GTB securities business. Britta is a member of several European infrastructure groups, e.g. ECB Advisory Group on Market Infrastructures for Securities and Collateral (AMI-SeCo), AMI-SeCo Harmonisation Steering Group, T2S Change Review Group etc.

Britta joined Deutsche Bank in December 2008, before that she worked almost 14 years as a consultant in the financial industry focusing on strategic projects in the post-trade industry. Britta Woernle studied Business Administration at Frankfurt University and holds a degree as “Diplom-Kauffrau”.

Head of Derivatives and Collateral Management in Wealth Management Operations. Been in Derivatives Operations since 2014. Main focus areas has been Collateral Management incl. operational setup for cleared OTC and the new Initial Margin rules.
